Welcome πŸ™‚

Thank you for your kind Get Well messages, my wrist and arm are feeling a bit better but I know that rest is the only way to go so my sewing activities have had to be slowed down somewhat 😦

I have been playing with some 3 D flowers though.

These remind me of the chrysanthemums that my Granddad used to grow each year. He used to have a patch in his garden, close to the house, which he filled with these lovely flowers and in the Autumn we always came home with an enormous bunch of them for our home.

I’m not sure what I shall do with them but whatever it is I shall do it slowly!

Another thing I’ve finally got round to finishing is this table topper which I started here.

So one finished project and one started project πŸ˜‰

Until next time,

Hawaiian Finish

Welcome πŸ™‚

I took some hand sewing with me on my recent trip to Barcelona. Something to while away the time as I rested my feet after all the sight seeing and I managed to finish the quilting on my Hawaiian block.

When I got back I didn’t waste any time in making it into a cushion cover and it’s now resting on my favourite chair.

What do you think?

Looking at the photos has made me realise that I now have an Hawaiian cushion and a Welsh cushion on my chair – maybe it’s time for me to make an English paper pieced cushion πŸ˜‰

I also took some sewing to do on the plane – these little framed hexies were started a while ago at my local quilting group – and it was good to get them finished and ready to sew together which, now I’m home, I’m in the process of doing.

My friends were surprised that I was allowed to sew on the plane (needles, pins and scissors being potential weapons, although my scissors were nail scissors so had tiny blades).

I’d be interested to know if anyone has had a problem with doing this on a flight? The flight assistants didn’t bat an eyelid as I stitched the hours away.

I’m linking this post up to Esther’s WiPs on Wednesdays, it’s Esther’s birthday so why not go and wish her a happy birthday!

Until next time,

Mystery Solved

Welcome πŸ™‚

The mysterious hexagonal table topper design was revealed at Wednesday’s Quilt group and it was this…

framed hexagons!

Not a new to me technique but one I hadn’t done in a while. I think I will enjoy sewing this little hand project πŸ™‚

If you’d like to have a go here’s aΒ good tutorial from Suzie at Silly Goose Quilts (thanks Suzie), hope you enjoy it too.

Have a good week end.

Until next time,

Chris x
