Bag Lady

Hello and welcome to visitors and followers alike, it’s good to have you here 🙂 The secret wedding sewing has slowed down a bit for now (I’m sure there will be plenty more to do soon 🙂 ) so I’ve been getting on with my brand new project bag which I spoke about in my last post. 20150421_145432 As you can see it’s all finished and ready to fill up with a sewing project (does this mean that I can start something new so I can put it in my bag? Please!) Take a peak inside… 20150421_145332 All my brand new notions are already in there, colour coded for the bag! 20150421_145227 And can you see what’s in the centre? 20150421_145238 A turquoise mouse 😉 Well I had to make one as so many of you told me to 🙂 I would have liked to use a different coloured cord for the fastening but my trusty market store didn’t have much choice and round here we have little choice of shops to go to for sewing supplies so I had to make do. However I did make some fabric beads to pretty the cord up a bit. This was a first for me and I hadn’t realised they were so easy to do, and I think they finish it all off rather well, don’t you? 20150421_145304 20150421_145358 I’m linking this post up to Esther Aliu’s WiPs on Wednesdays, I know it’s not really a WiP any more but it’s good to celebrate our finishes too 🙂

Also linking up to Celtic Thistle Stitches New to me in April because of those cute fabric beads.

Until next time,

Chris x

  1. Beautiful Chris and yes, you definitely deserve a new project to put in it! Love the mouse and the little beads finish off the cord nicely. xx

  2. It’s lovely Chris. It is definitely crying out for a new project 🙂 What is the cream fabric? It looks like leather on the pics. The mouse is super cute, shame he can’t be on the outside! Sharon x

You have my permission to start a new project! This is beautiful with all the matching pieces. The fabric beads are the perfect touch. I have made them before and they are fun, and use up little bits of fabric plus all those tiny pieces of batting I hate to throw away make the perfect stuffing for them. Good job!

  4. Love the bag, the mouse and all the matching little bits. Love the colours too! What wonderful project are you going to make now? Can’t wait to find out!

Tell me, your Friday Night Sewing, does it have to be patchwork?

I need to make some buttons like that for a jacket of mine!

I’ve just found your blog! Love it. Your bag is beautiful, love the color, and what fun to have all the pieces match. I like the detailing with the beads.
The crocheted mice in your header are super cute. Thanks
